Fall Festivals in the Wildwoods

Fall Roar to the Shore Motorcycle Rally - 1st Weekend after Labor day

The fall festival season kicks off every year with  the annual fall roar to the shore motorcycle rally.  And as the name implies, it is a weekend where you get to hear and see a lot of motorcycles.

2011 featured an appearance by Shorty Rossi star of the show "Pit Boss" on animal planet.  He is famous for  his efforts to rescue and save American Stafordshire Terriers from abuse, and fighting.  It was a pleasure to meet Shorty, and his dog Hercules.

Appearing with Shorty was Oogy, and his dad ('owner' for those of you who haven't read the book Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love  )Larry Levin.  Oogy is a beautiful docile Argentinian Dobo, that was used as a bait dog.  Mr. Levin and his family adopted Oogy, got him fixed up, and then wrote a book about Oogy's story.
At various locations in town vendors sell biker themed gear, and many different kinds of food.
Bands play for free at the convention center all weekend.

The festival organizers provide trolley service on this weekend for access all over the island. Irish Leprechaun

Hydrofest - Last Weekend of September

The last weekend in September features a variety of events.

In Wildwood Crest, the Governor's Cup races are held on Sunset Lake.  Hydroplane power boats race along the shore.  There's plenty of room on the shorline to set up a lawn chair or sit in the bleachers and watch for free, or buy a pit pass and tour the areas where they prepare the boats for the races.  Food and craft vendors line New Jersey Avenue, Park Boulevard, and Bayview Drive.
